Professionalism on the Road
This workshop prepares new graduates of the CDL program with that “extra” not afforded in other CDL licensing courses. It equips drivers to be the best company ambassador on the road they can be while gaining job satisfaction. “Professionalism” comes not just from the way one dresses, talks, does the job or solves problems… professionalism that produces effective on-the-job results comes from an emotionally mature, skilled employee who knows him/herself well and is trained to capitalize on strengths while minimizing “blind spots.” This workshop helps participants become more self aware of their natural communication and processing styles when interacting with others on the job. It also focuses on getting clear about personal values as a tool to self-motivate, especially when an over the shoulder supervisor isn’t available on the road. A tool for how to write SMART weekly goals is included and applied to the first 90 days of employment with the new transportation company. Finally, communication skills for situations involving customer service, conflicts and teamwork are addressed.
Critical Conversations
This course takes a theoretical and hands-on approach to helping business leaders and teams negotiate difficult situations using a systematic process for win/win outcomes. It is focused on management level employees who lead others in a formal supervisory role or those who must influence others across functional boundaries without the official authority. Techniques learned help employees deal with poor performance, challenges, barriers and lack of accountability to improve performance. Participants learn to plan, confront constructively, consider various viewpoints and negotiate a resolution that satisfies both parties.
The Leadership Edge
This interactive course is designed to provide leaders with the tools necessary to inspire and effectively lead within their organizations. The Leadership Circle is comprised of modules focused on Five Critical elements that, when applied within an organization develop and expand a leadership culture throughout the organization. This program is presented in six modules that are fully integrated with one another. Participants learn the characteristics of each of the leadership elements and participate in interactive discussions regarding the practical application of each concept.
You, Inc.
This interactive course is designed to provide employees with the tools necessary to conduct a Development Discussion with their boss to proactively manage their own career. First, participants clarify their personal goals and values. Then, they examine how personal needs intersect with the company’s mission, goals and values. Where these two paths intersect is the “success connection”. A competency checklist is used to identify talents, skill gaps, development needs, and important job characteristics based on the participant’s perception and their boss’s perception. Peers work together to prepare for an effective development discussion back on the job within 30 days. The outcome is that each participant leaves with the tools to know how they’re doing now, how to leverage their talent, how to “sell” career development concepts for their own future and how they can improve performance where they are. You, Inc. reduces employee turnover, increases employee levels of responsibility, and opens up communication paths about the company’s succession plans and future human resource needs.
CUSTOMER SERVICE EXCELLENCE
Participants will be able to identify hallmarks of exemplary customer service in companies recognized for it in OEM, services or consumer products environments. They will have developed strategies and practice handling difficult situations with customers. They will clearly understand their own communication style and strengths and be able to leverage the company’s mission, goals and objectives to deliver world class customer service.

Key focus is developing the right set of “eyes” to find and investigate these opportunities and how best to gather data to analyze what’s value added and what’s not. This workshop proactively addresses a number of “we’ve always done it this way” attitudinal barriers while showing clear steps to increased productivity whether your office is large and complex, or small and casual.
INTRODUCTION TO LEAN MANUFACTURING
This workshop provides an overview for supervisors and department managers of the ways lean concepts such as standardizing work, using visual aids, batch size reductions pull systems and first piece flow approaches can dramatically improve both manufacturing and service environment productivity. Four key simulations are used as the foundation for discovery-based learning and small group dialogue. Results can reduce cycle time and improve quality once participants return to the workplace to implement the concepts.
VALUE STREAM MAPPING (VSM)
This workshop enables participants to visually see the flow of value created by improved work processes and to identify waste within administrative processes. They will learn to map processes for transformation by creating a Future State Map then prioritize activities to achieve that Future State. Hands-on group activity and benchmark discussions are part of this workshop.
WORK HABITS FOR A RADICALLY CHANGING WORLD
This course will improve service delivery and employee performance by aligning each employee with organization goals, giving tools to manage him/her, and communicating to “fit” effectively into the culture. Course content emphasizes personal accountability for doing what you were hired to do. This workshop provides practical, hands-on experience and affords participants the chance to self-evaluate their own “work ethic”, interpersonal communication strengths and on-the-job motivation skills.
HOW TO WRITE A JOB DESCRIPTION
The foundation of a positive management-subordinate relationship is a mutual understanding of the person’s role in the organization. Job descriptions formalize this understanding, which in turn improves morale, creating more productive staff. This seminar will create a solid job structure through consistent job descriptions giving employees a better understanding of their job requirements, performance expectations, and their individual contribution to the organization’s goals.
SAFETY COMMITTEE AND MANAGEMENT SAFETY TRAINING & COMPLIANCE
Workshops will be custom designed to meet the unique needs of chemical and plastics industry organizations. The key feature of our safety offerings is the ability to assist companies in launching Safety Committees in-house or take their existing Safety Committee to the next level of performance through Job Hazard Analysis, Employee Recognition approaches, Visual Measures, and Self-Evaluation. For example…..one of our 16 hour courses prepares managers to apply on behalf of their facility for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s “Workplace Safety Committee Certification” and provides technical assistance to do so.
