Another opportunity for your industry and our Logistics & Transportation Industry Partnership. Lehigh Carbon Community College and Luzerne County Community College were recently awarded, as partners, a three year, $1.7 million dollar U.S. Department of Labor grant to strengthen workforce skills in the Logistics and Transportation and Advanced Manufacturing industries in our region. The grant and its programs are called “Careers on the Move” – a take off from our NEPA L&T IP “People on the Move” brand. Pipeline talent, skills upgrade, and career exploration for youth are the focus areas for Careers on the Move. This grant was a competitive grant and reasons stated for being awarded the grant was 1) two community colleges working in partnership and 2) an alignment with our NEPA L&T IP – a success for our Partnership.
Two upcoming sessions will be held to explain the grant and its programs.
